Outdoor Disconnector Switch GW9-10/630A DC High Voltage electrical Isolation Porcelain Disconnector
Product Description:
GW9-10/630 Outdoor Disconnector Switch is a piece of electrical equipment used in power transmission and distribution systems to isolate a section of the electrical network for maintenance or repair work. It is typically installed on high voltage power lines or in substations and is used to disconnect the flow of electricity to a specific part of the network.
Operation:
GW9-10/630 Outdoor Disconnector Switch separates the conductive part from the base using an insulator to ensure a normal working insulation distance and fix the conductive part, insulator, and base as an integral switching device. When it is in the open position, there is a visible gap and a proper breaking insulation distance to withstand the normal working voltage. When it is in the closed position, it can reliably carry the normal working current and short-circuit fault current. Due to the presence of a dedicated arc extinguishing device, it can only be used for switching circuits with voltage but no load. The opening and closing operations are carried out by using an insulating hook to pull or push the round hole in the interlock, causing the dynamic interlock hook to disengage and engage with the static interlock hook.
Application:
GW9-10/630 Outdoor Disconnector Switch is in the operation and maintenance of overhead power transmission lines. These lines carry high voltage electricity over long distances and are typically installed on tall metal towers or poles.
To perform maintenance or repair work on an overhead transmission line, it's necessary to isolate the section of the line where the work is being done. This is where high voltage outdoor disconnecting switches come in. A switch can be installed on the line at each end of the section to be worked on, allowing the section to be disconnected from the rest of the line.
For example, if a repair crew needs to replace a damaged section of conductor on an overhead transmission line, they would first open the high voltage outdoor disconnecting switches at both ends of the section to be worked on. This would isolate the section from the rest of the line, allowing the repair work to be carried out safely.
Once the repair work is complete, the switches can be closed to restore power flow to the repaired section of the line. The switches can also be used to isolate sections of the line during routine maintenance or inspections, or in the event of a fault or emergency situation.
